Every day we hear on the news of people that have killed their children in some horrible way. We are shocked that a mother could drown her babies, hang them, or in any manner destroy their young innocent lives. We say it is because these people are sick in their minds. My question is what makes people do these things and how did they get so sick-minded in the first place? With the help of the Lord we will try to look at some of these things.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Romans 1:28
Could this be one of the reasons why? Some people will even say that God told them to kill their children. There is one thing I know, God will never tell anyone to kill their baby. It is only a person with a reprobate mind that can kill their children.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. II Timothy 1:7
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Philip. 2:5
One of the reasons why I am talking about this is because there are a lot of people both in church and out of church who are taking drugs by the handful. I talked to a funeral home director today. He said he is seeing more and more people dying from a mixture drugs. Doctors and the police are seeing more depressed people than ever before. Could it be a sin problem? We are living in a time of trouble, as never before. It seems like the world has gone mad. With out knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior there is little hope of living in this world without depression. The following contains a list of the symptoms of depression as given by those who have studied this problem for many years. We will look at what they have to say.
Symptoms of Depression
“One of the most recognized symptoms of depression is a profound feeling of sadness, hopelessness, or emptiness. You may be surprised to learn that people with depression often experience physical symptoms too.
In general, if you've been experiencing some combination of the following emotional or physical symptoms for more than two weeks, and it clearly interferes with your life, discuss your concerns with your doctor:
Emotional
Sadness throughout the day, nearly every day
Loss of interest in or enjoyment of your favorite activities
Feelings of emptiness or hopelessness
Feeling stressed, nervous, or overwhelmed
Trouble concentrating or making decisions
Feelings of worthlessness
Excessive or inappropriate feelings of guilt
Irritability or restlessness
Thoughts of death or suicide
Physical
Fatigue or lack of energy
Sleeping too much or too little
Change in appetite or weight
Aches and pains
Headache
Back pain
Digestive problems
Dizziness
Don't let this list of symptoms scare you. Treatments and therapies are available that can help ease and even eliminate the emotional and physical symptoms of depression.
Causes of Depression
There's no simple explanation for why people experience depression. It's a complex disease that may develop for a variety of reasons. It can affect anyone at any age, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, or income level.
Some people become depressed after a major life change - the death of a loved one, a divorce, the loss of a job or a move. Even seemingly happy events, such as becoming a parent or getting married, can trigger depression. Or, even a smaller change can sometimes trigger depression.
Some risk factors for depression include:
A family history of depression
Death or illness of a loved one
Stressful conflicts, such as fights with family members or disputes at work
Physical, sexual, or emotional abuse
Major life events, such as moving, graduating from college, changing jobs, getting married or divorced, becoming a new parent, or retiring
Financial difficulties
It is important to seek help if you think you are depressed. "End of quote"
All this information tells me that demons are at work oppressing people or possessed them. We will look at a man that was possessed of the devils in the Bible.
And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep. And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them. Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked. When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country. Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed. Luke 8:26-36
The man in this Bible story was possessed of devils, but some of the same symptoms can be seen even in depression. Want to be alone, sleepless, pain all over the body, can't stay around family at long periods of time. I would like to stop right here and tell you that Jesus loves you and he will not leave you in that state of mind.
There may be a an inmate reading this and you may be going through a state of depression that you think will never end, but I have good news for you today Jesus is right there in that cell with you right now so get down on your knees and ask him to forgive you of your sins and come and live his life in you, to come into your heart right now and ask for the peace that only he can give. It's up to you to surrender all of yourself to him right now.
To the child of God there is hope. God is the only one that can change today and all our tomorrows into joy and peace and give us a life worth living in a world that has gone mad.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Isaiah 26:3
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Acts 2:40
If there ever weas a generation perverted and twisted, it is this one. Today people call evil good and good evil (Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20) The minds of people are so warped and perverted I sometime think how could it be possible that the days of Noah were any worse. When this evil that is in the minds of people takes root in their hearts it is like God said of Noah’s day, that the “imagination of man’s heart is only evil continually. It is time for the judgments of God to begin. One only needs to watch some television and just flip through the channels to see just how perverted and twisted the mindset of people has become. (And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Genesis 6:5)
There are over eight million homosexuals in America today, and millions of others with perverted and filthy minds. These are the first signs of a reprobate minded people. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (Romans 1:28) We as a nation have told God to get out of our schools. We have taken his Commandments out of our court houses and have long since stop teaching our children about his Holy Word. Why has fifth and depression come to America? You can under line it, "they did not like to retain God in their Knowledge."
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians. 6:9-11
Truly we are living in a world that had gone mad. Reprobate minded people are twisting and perverting all that is good and decent. We need to pray for America! We must see a revival in our land.
If the church loses the answer for people who are looking for help, we will be no better than some doctor trying to make sense of it all. Never in church-history has the church become so worldly and depressed, down in the dumps, unhappy,and miserable as it is today. Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
There was a time when we walked in the flesh as in Ephesians 2:3 “Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others and like the verse said we fulfilled the desires of the flesh and of the mind and were by nature the children of wrath. This is not a picture of a child of God. If you are living this kind of life you need to repent and be born again. “This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind. Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart. Ephesians 4:17 -18
.Depressed and Mad
Many good people are depressed and cannot sleep at nights because of all the wickedness and perversion of reprobate minded people all around them. It's as though their minds have been taken over by a spirit of depression. They fear every thing. They are depressed over not having enough money, they are terrified to let their child go outside to play, they are fearful of the unknown, and they cannot help themselves. I have had people tell me they thought they were losing their mind, that they just wanted to kill the people that make their life a living hell. The only hope for these people is to turn to God for the answer to life problems. If they don’t they may seek relief one day by taking their own life, but their will be no relief. They will exist for eternity with that same torment. II Timothy 1:7 says, “God hath not given us the spirit of fear;but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”. Did you get it? He gave us a sound mind.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philip. 4:7
This peace will keep your heart and mind. Trust the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior today by asking him to forgive you of your sins and asking him to come and live in your heart. You can know the joy of the Lord’s salvation, and the peace that passeth all understanding if you will only believe on Jesus Christ as your savior today.
