About Brother Kirbbie L. Cowart

Publisher of “Hear The Shepherd's Voice”

In  1964 at a Revival meeting at First Assembly of God Church Colmesneil Texas Brother Cowart could not wait for the altar call.  The message the evangelist preached did not stir him but the life his Granddaddy lived in front of him every day did. He had to know this Jesus like his Granddaddy knew him.  That Saturday night in July 1964 Jesus made himself known to Brother Cowart as Lord and Savior and soon coming King.  He gave himself totally to him.  Jesus became his life that night.  He gave Brother Cowart life anew.  Brother Cowart said he has never been the same since.

In 1965 at a Revival meeting at First Pentecostal God of God in Zavalla Texas God called this seventeen-year-old boy into the ministry.  At the age of nineteen Brother Cowart became pastor of his first church, an Assembly of God church in Broaddus, Texas.

Brother Cowart has ministered on radio and television, and has spent several years under a big gospel tent, preaching Tent Revivals and Camp meetings.  He has also built two full gospels churches from the ground up using the Assembly of God doctrine.

In the last 11 years God has given Brother Cowart the opportunity to publish "Hear The Shepherd's Voice," a monthly Christian Newspaper.  The paper ministry grew out of a desire to reach the community in which he pastored.  Brother Cowart was the pastor of Trinity Temple Pentecostal Church of God in Shepherd, Texas when he started “The Shepherd’s Voice” with 3,000 copies the first issue.  Before long, people in other communities started asking for “The Shepherd's Voice,” until now it is up to 25,000 copies a month.  In April 1999 Brother Cowart resigned his church in Shepherd Texas and went full time in publishing “The Shepherd's Voice.”

Brother Cowart believes “The Shepherd's Voice” Ministry has become the greatest work God has ever given him the opportunity to do.  This is a faith Ministry costing thousands of dollars a month for printing and mailing cost.  The Shepherd's Voice is mailed all over the United States and Canada and to Jails and Prison.
